How I Make Money Thanks to Wealthy Affiliate

To really learn how to make money online and put a stop to buying all of those worthless guides out there, please continue on and read my story, I promise it won’t take too long.

My name is Kat and until recently I was in your exact shoes. I was searching the internet endlessly trying to find something…anything that would allow me to make a few dollars from home. I wasn’t asking for much, just a few hundred dollars a month to help pay the bills, or perhaps save for a vacation. I’m a stay at home mom too and I really wanted something I could do in my spare time (though there isn’t much of that) so that I could still be available whenever my kids needed me. I was lucky enough to find something early last year and that something has changed my life completely.

I created Wealthy Affiliate’s Way to help others find what I have and to help them side step all of the junk out there that won’t get you anywhere. There is a lot of unhelpful information and supposed work from home programs out there and it can really be hard to know which ones you can trust.

I started this site after I found one that really can be trusted and hope that you’ll read on and perhaps have your life turned upside down (in a good way!). Who Is Kat?

As of right now I am a 31 year old mother of 2 beautiful children. I’m also a musician, a teacher, and a wife, and I have interests in just about everything. Last year I became a full-time internet marketer too thanks to Wealthy Affiliate.

Back in 2004 I started combing the internet for a way to make money online. I’m a fast typist and I don’t mind hard work (I just wanted to be able to do it from home). I thought for sure that there had to be something out there I could do. I found NOTHING. Nothing real anyway. I found a lot of opportunities sure, but none of those ended up being legit. I even tried Google Adwords and spent thousands in advertising only to make back a few hundred. When I realized that was not working I decided I better give up and instead focused on building my family.

In 2006 I had a beautiful daughter and completely focused on her until she started to give me a little free time during her naps. Once again I went on a search for some kind of way to make money on the internet.

It wasn’t until I was pregnant for a second time that I finally found something, nearly 3 years later…

I always wanted to be able to help my family financially, but I have never been a career oriented person, ironic I know. The internet was a way that allowed me to be the free minded person I am, not have to work for anyone, but still make a nice income. Passive income (the kind that rolls in when you aren’t doing anything) is what I was after. And last year I finally found a way to make it.

How Surfing the Internet Changed My Life!

I had a few months to go in my pregnancy when I was surfing online still looking for what I knew HAD to be out there. I actually had found two possibilities that I was looking into when I stumbled across Wealthy Affiliate.

I’d had that excited feeling before, so before my emotions got the better of me I had my husband take a look at it too before I decided to join. I’m a skeptic at heart too, hey, I’d been burned before!

After only a few moments of reading over the site we both looked at each other and knew that I finally had found it, the diamond in the rough, so to speak. For the next few months before my son was born I worked and learned from this resource non-stop.

The month my son arrived was actually the month I made my first sale too!

It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This!

I now call myself an internet marketer; and while most people haven’t the foggiest idea what that actually means, it really is quite simple. I help people who are looking for certain things and if those people buy the product I have helped them to find through my link, I get a commission. Everything I do is completely free, I pay no money for advertising (no more huge Google Adwords bills!)

While I have chosen to remain a member of Wealthy Affiliate because I love the community so much, the only other business expense that I have is web hosting (less than $10 per month), which now isn’t really necessary since recently Wealthy Affiliate started offering unlimited web hosting free.

An example of what I do is this: I choose a product that people may be interested in purchasing, perhaps a product on Amazon. I figure out the search terms people are typing into Google in order to find that product and I write a little review about it. When someone reads my review and purchases the product, I make a commission from that sale.

You can duplicate this process for any product in any industry so ultimately there is NO LIMIT to how much money you can make. It all depends on how much work you put in.

No experience or skill set is necessary for this business. A lot of people worry they won’t be able to do this kind of work because they don’t have any technical skills, but Wealthy Affiliate can help you learn how to do all of it and they even have a website builder that will build one for you. I Won The Super Affiliate Competition!

Wealthy Affiliate usually holds an affiliate competition every year. This year I took part in their Super Affiliate Improvement Challenge. And guess what? I won! I worked hard, used the tools and knowledge they gave me and was given the honor of most improved affiliate. I’m No Guru and I’m Not Rich!

Just so we are clear, I want you to know that I do not have all of the answers and I am not rich. I still work hard every single day, but because of Wealthy Affiliate I have 2 things I didn’t have before I found it. #1 – Money coming in everyday and #2 – Hope. What I found is not a get rich quick scheme, you aren’t going to make money immediately and you won’t make a million dollars (well not over night anyway!) There are people out there making large amounts, but it takes time and it takes work.

My family has been hit hard by the poor economy like many other families out there. Wealthy Affiliate has given me the knowledge, the tools, the support and the hope I needed to keep us afloat. Every day that I put in puts me that much closer to financial security and knowing that I am helping my family and especially my husband gives me more joy than you could know. Someday soon I hope to have enough money to live comfortably, go on a great family vacation and who knows, maybe even allow my husband to retire early!
