What Are Organic Keywords?
So what are organic keywords? Simply put, an organic keyword is a “natural keyword” or phrase that sends free traffic to your website. By targeting organic keywords on your website or within your article, you can help increase your sites rank for that particular phrase. What?! Free traffic?! Yep, you don’t need to use pay-per-click to get traffic, you can simply find some keywords that people are already searching for and use those within your article OR optimize your website with them and if you do it correctly you can be found on Google and other search engines in the natural search results without spending a dime.
Pretty cool right? That’s what I said when I first heard about it, and now…I have too many websites and articles out there on Google to count, I actually have absolutely no idea how many search terms I’m being found for, I can go look and figure it out, but if you do it right you can actually get found for organic keywords you didn’t even target.
How is that possible? It is this thing called common or cousin keywords. Often times if you target a search term or phrase and use any variations of that in your article, more often than not you will be found for those as well and even some you didn’t use, but because you may be relevant for others as well, Google might decide to just pick you up for those too. Then you can do something really cool, you can take those keywords and specifically target them to gain strength in the search engines for those too.
But if you are new to all of this internet marketing stuff, I’m probably really confusing you. Sorry!!! For those of you aren’t completely new though and you understood what I said, you will want to take the next step into using some organic keywords for your own campaigns. Figure out what kind of keywords people are already searching for that are relevant to your website, then write a post or revise an older post and include those keywords in the title, a few times within the article, and perhaps add it to the tags too. Then, you’ll want to go write some articles and post them on article directories and use the organic keywords as anchor text, that will help you get stronger in the search results for those keywords…make sense?
